Three people died in a motorbike accident

An accident along the R21 in Pretoria claimed the lives of three people.

It is believed a motorbike heading towards Pretoria collided with a female pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road.

The driver of the motorbike lost control after hitting the pedestrian which threw his female passenger against a barrier alongside the road.

ER24 Spokesperson Luyanda Majija said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found the pedestrian lying dead on the road.  She died from multiple traumatic injuries she sustained.

ER24 paramedics say these kinds of incidents are becoming more common because motorbikes are usually less visible than light motor vehicles, and this often causes pedestrians to misjudge their speed.
