A call has been made to National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega to release a transcript of a meeting that took place on 15th of August 2012.

The Marikana Support Campaign said the tape proves the decision made to disperse and disarm the striking mineworkers.

34 miners were killed allegedly by police in Marikana.

Marikana Support Campaign Rehad Desai said the transcript of that meeting that took place on that day which Riah Phiyega called to cut down all their provincial commissioners needs to be released.

Desai said the evidence leaders have been asking for it, since September last year and they are getting no response.

“This is of great concern for the commission and that is why we have now seen Judge Farlam state that if there is evidence that can help the committee it needs to come out.
