Four suspects were this week arrested after they allegedly robbed a disabled man of R50 000 in Pietermaritzburg.

The suspects are between the ages of 23 and 30-years-old.  The 32-year-old man was robbed after he withdrew money from a bank at nearby mall.

Captain Thulani Zwane said the disabled man was with his neighbour and when he was waiting for his neighbour in the car, he noticed a suspect placing his hand inside the driver side window of the vehicle and opening the arm rest to remove the money bag containing the cash.

Zwane said after the victim screamed another suspect confronted him and when he was still the suspects fled away with the money.

The suspects appeared in court the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday and will remain in custody until their bail hearing.
