Nelspruit Police today said a Grade 10 learner is facing charges of murder.

This is after he handed himself over to police on Wednesday after he stabbed to death a Grade 9 pupil following an argument about food.

Police Spokesperson Selvy Mohlala said the Grade 10 pupil was allegedly angry at a Grade 9 pupil during break at Bushbuckbridge and he stabbed him to death.

Mohlala said the boy is appearing at the Acornhoek Magistrate Court today.

“As the South African Police force we are very much concerned about this particular incident because parents send children to school with the understand that they are safe there” Mohlala added.
