The Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance has urged the Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters to go much more deeply to the problems that are present in the e-tolling system.

Outa Spokesperson John Clarke said it is not a question of billing and inaccuracy of information but also of people’s security.

Clarke said nine weeks ago there was a breach of the South African National Roads Agency Limited online system and still Sanral has not yet established how many user accounts were compromised.

“It is a concern that Sanral did not even inform its clients about the breach for all we know the personal data maybe in the hands of cyber criminals” Clarke added.
