The Democratic Alliance said it is concerned about the conflicting messages from Eskom about the electricity crisis in the country.

DA MP of Public Enterprises Natasha Michael said the conflicting message on Eskom’s energy crisis is a clear indication of government’s uncoordinated and ineffective approach towards resolving the crisis.

“We had been for the last week getting mixed messages with Brain Dames saying that we were in a crisis, yet the chairperson of the board Mr Zola Totsi saying that there is no crisis, Mr Pravin Gordhan saying that Eskom’s failures is a kick in the ankle and Minister Gigaba saying everything will be ok" Michael added.

DA's Natasha Michael said obviously things are not okay we as South Africans are simply awaiting the next round of load shedding and I think it is imperative that Minister Gigaba explain to the South African public, exactly where we stand and most importantly how are we going to keep  the lights on in the upcoming winter.
