Five died in an accident in Kromdraai

Five people tragically lost their lives when the vehicle they were traveling in lost control and overturned several times before coming to a halt in a river in Kromdraai west of Johannesburg. 

The occupants were on their way to Manziville when the accident happened. 

ER24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak it is alleged that the vehicle veered off the road and landed on the river on its roof.

Vermaak further said bystanders managed to turn the vehicle back onto its wheels and pulled out six people but five of them succumbed to their injuries and the injured person was transported to hospital in a critical condition.

The exact details to the cause of the accidents are unknown and the police are investigating.
