Six people died, multiple injured in separate accidents

Six people have died and three injured in a road accident, when their light delivery vehicle had collided with a truck on the N1 about 50km from Bloemfontein this afternoon.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Santi Steinmann said the tree injured people were treated on scene before they were transported to hospital for further medical care.

Exact details to the cause of the accident are unknown at this stage but police are investigating the matter.

In another accident a light delivery vehicle had left the roadway, overturned and came to a standstill in a field next to the side of the road in Zinkwezi yesterday.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson said eleven people sustained serious injuries and after receiving treatment on scene they were transported to hospital for further medical care.

Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
