16 people arrested for fraud in the Eastern Cape

Eastern Cape Police arrested 16 suspects for fraud this is after they allegedly cloned South African Social Security Agency cards.

Police Spokesperson Mzukisi Fatyela said the suspect’s nine women and seven males were arrested following a tip-off from the public that a group of people from different areas in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal were manufacturing Sassa cards at a nurse's house. 

Fatyela said in operation operated by the police they arrested these people and about 223 cards were found, computers and cellphones and four vehicles were confiscated.

He added that all these people will appear at the Mthata Magistrate court on charges of fraud on the 4th of April 2014.
