18 year old pedestrian’s leg partially amputated

ER24 Paramedics were called to an accident whereby an 18 year old pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on the R24 near Krugersdorp last night.

Paramedics Spokesperson Luyanda Majija said the screaming teenager was found lying along the road, in pain. Her leg was partially cut off in the collision and she also sustained abdominal injuries.

“ER24 who were alerted about the scene by bystanders, immediately treated the patient. Stabilisation of the teenager continued en route to Leratong Provincial Hospital where she would receive further medical care.” Majija added.

The vehicle that hit her was not found on scene.

The incident is under investigation by local authorities.
