Cape Town police this week arrested a 22-year-old man for being in possession of illegal firearms, ammunition, drugs and cash. This follows a search by police of a known drug house in Bellville South area.

Police Spokesperson Colonel Andre Traut said they are pleased with the outcome of the operation and regard the confiscations as a significant success to addressing crime in the area.

Traut added the suspect was arrested on Monday night at 20h30. The suspect was found to be in possession of six illegal firearms.

“A total amount of cash R63000 was also found in his possession. The suspect is due to make a court appearance once he has been charged.” said Traut.
