A police officer was shot dead on Wednesday night after he was attacked by three unknown men at Klapmuts Police Station near Stellenbosch.

Western Cape Police Commissioner Arno Lamoer said the officer was shot twice inside the police station.

“The message is very clear that we cannot tolerate police officer being killed.

We ask the community to come forward to give us information so that we can solve this crime,” Lamoer added.
