The Congress of South African Trade Union in the Western Cape said it condemns the recent equity figures for the province.

Cosatu Spokesperson Tony Ehrenreich said the figures are as bad as last year with white females being overrepresented in all areas of senior employment in both the private and public sectors.

Ehenreich said that the Western Cape government is intent on defending the apartheid generational advantages of white people. This is why Helen Zille said she would go up to the constitutional court to ensure that she doesn’t have to implement employment equity.

He concluded that  this is a clear indication of racists in the Western Cape Government.  As Cosatu they will do all they can to ensure workers in all sectors have the opportunity to employment equity as a key law in this country to undo apartheid.
