DHA released its statistics for the Easter weekend

The Department of Home Affairs released its statistics for the Easter Holiday which revealed that the highest volume ports of entry during Easter weekend included Oliver Tambo International Airport and Beit Bridge amongst others. 

The top five nationalities who were recorded arriving and departing from the country were Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Botswana, Mozambique and United Kingdom. 

Departmental Spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said the department immigration section processed a total of 764 000 and 64 616 travelers at South Africa’s national ports of entry, for the period of the Easter weekend.

He added that total figure comprises of 535 950 foreigners and 218 South Africans.
