MEC Winde welcomes International Congress on Infectious Diseases conference

The International Congress on Infectious Diseases is being held in Cape Town and this is the first time the conference is being held in Africa.

Western Cape MEC of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Alan Winde said the conference is a great achievement for the province as it positions the province as a hub of health innovation and research.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said Minister Winde welcomed the conference delegates to the Western Cape, there are about 2 000 people who are attending the four day conference.

Jooste said business tourisms is very lucrative because travellers have a high spend and it creates more jobs in the province.
