Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa said through his investigation of policing he has found that one challenge for the police is drugs and the violence that goes with the illegal drug trade.

Minister Mthethwa said good community policing includes getting users off the street and into rehabilitation.

Ministerial Spokesperson David Barritt said Minister has instructed SAPS to increase resources into areas to try and target the big drug lords.

“He said he wants to go out to the big fish because these people are evil they don’t care about that they are destroying the lives of young South Africans

All they care about is dealing drugs which are extraordinary dangerous, in the Western Cape tik is the scourge, it’s a serious problem.” Barritt added.
