President Jacob Zuma today signed
the Electronic Communications Amendment Act into law.
The Presidency said the act sets to
align with the broad-based black economic empowerment initiatives, improve the
governance provisions of the Universal Service and Access Agency of South
Africa to refine licensing issues.
Presidency Spokesperson Mac Maharaj
said that will cease to give power to the Minister of Communications to issues
policy directions by USSAASA.
He added that there are changes that
going to happen to the board of government and agency of South Africa.
