Three people injured in a truck collision near Worcester

ER24 paramedics this morning attended to an accident on the N1 near Worcester whereby two trucks collided into each other. 
Paramedics Spokesperson Russel Meiring said when they arrived on the scene they found that two mangled trucks blocking one lane of the road. Three occupants were left critically injured and trapped in their truck. 

“Provincial services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the occupants in a 45-minute operation.

Once freed, paramedics provided advanced life support to the patients before they were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.” Meiring added.

The cause of the collision is not yet known and local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
