1 man killed after bakkie and truck collison

A man was today killed in an accident involving a bakkie and a truck on Shamdor Road in Lewisham Johannesburg. 

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.

ER24 Spokesperson Luyanda Majija said ER24 paramedics discovered that deceased sustain fatal head injuries and was entrapped in his bakkie.

Majija said the passenger sustained moderate injuries and was transported to nearby hospital for further medical care.

Majija said the collision apparently occurred when the bakkie collided with the truck resulting in a secondary collision where a sedan crashed into the two vehicles.

“The deceased was still being extricated from his bakkie when our paramedics left the scene in a very complicated operation Majija added.
