A man died in head-on collision near Worcester

An accident on the Du Toitskloof pass near Worcester in the Western Cape left one person dead and one critically injured. 

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said two cars collided head on into each resulting in the accident. When paramedics arrived on the scene they found the two cars badly damaged in the middle of the road. 

Meiring said closer inspection showed that four people had been injured one of them critically. Paramedics immediately began their assessment finding that the driver of the one vehicle did not show any signs of life.

Meiring said CPR and advanced life support was performed on the man for sometime unfortunately no signs of life returned and the man was later declared dead.

"The critically injured lady was treated for her various injuries before she was stabilized and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.The two remaining patients declined further treatment and transportation to hospital Meiring added.
