Eastern Cape police concerned about alleged gang related shooting

Eastern Cape Police Commissioner General Celiwe Binta has condemned the murders of three people at a New Brighton tavern in Port Elizabeth last night. 

 

A suspect allegedly entered into the tavern and started shooting randomly. 

 

Four people were also left critically wounded during the shooting. 

 

Warrant Officer Thembi Gwe said they are investigating a case of murder, and four counts of attempted murder following an incident that happened at Nibe Street in New Brighton at the tavern last night whereby a man entered at the tavern and started to shoot randomly.

 

Gwe added that the motive for the killing is unknown and the suspect is at large no arrests have been made but police are following up on leads.
