A 28-year-old crewman was on Thursday evacuated after suffering from a nose bleed at Humansdorp based Shiron Fishing Enterprise.

It was reported that the man’s nose would not stop bleeding despite efforts by the crew onboard to stop the bleeding.
National Sea Rescue Institute Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the crewman was suffering from epistaxis which is continuous nose bleed.

“He was transferred onto the sea aircraft, brought onto shore in Plettenberg Bay and transported to hospital by a midlife ambulance for further treatment.” said Lambinon.
