Cape Town police have confirmed that a 26-year-old man was killed in a shooting incident in Hanover Park.

Police Spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said the man sustained several gunshot wounds to his body and he was declared dead on the scene.
Van Wyk added it is alleged that the deceased and his colleagues were pushing a vehicle that they use to go to work with when an unknown suspect walked up to him and randomly fired shots at him.

“The gunman was unharmed, fled the scene on foot and is still at large. The motive for the shooting is unknown and is yet to be established if it was gang related” said Van Wyk
