North West Premier Thandi Modise has warned that harsh punishment will be cast upon those that contravene the electoral act including intimidation.

Modise has called on employers to allow their employees to vote on Wednesday.

Premier Modise Spokesperson Lesbia Kgwele said the provincial government will take harsh actions against individual employers including big businesses that prohibit workers, including domestic workers from casting their votes.

Modise said the premier wont compromise for those that do not comply with electoral act.

“The premier said many have died for us to have the right to vote and that this time it begins with all of us acting responsibly during this exciting period in the history of our country Modise added.
