Police are investigating a case of robbery after cellphones were stolen at an MTN Shop at Old Paarl Road in Brackenfell on Thursday.

Captain FC van Wyk said three armed men robbed the store and tied up two people who were inside the store at the time.

Van Wyk added that the three unknown men entered the store at approximately 09h35.  A shop assistant in the front of the store was confronted by a man armed with a gun. Two other men went behind the counter to the store room where they came across another assistant that was assisting a customer telephonically.   They were tied up using cable material and instructed to lie down.

“They apparently drove off in a gold coloured Opel Astra.  A case of armed robbery was opened by us.  No arrests have been made as yet.  No shots were fired during the robbery and no one was injured.” said Van Wyk
