Presidential Inauguration on May 24

Government has announced that the Presidential Inauguration will take place on the 24th of May at the Union Buildings.

During a media briefing on Thursday Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane said government would also like to thank South Africans for contributing to the success of the 2014 General Elections. 

Chabane added that as the Inauguration is happening as we celebrate 20 years of Freedom it is during this time that we remember our first democratically elected President Nelson Mandela. 

“The guest list has been finalised and all invitations have been sent out. The 4500 guest in the Nelson Mandela Amphitheatre will include members of parliament, representatives of provincial government, municipalities, representatives of communities of faith, civil society organisations and former heads of states, heads of states  and government as well as  eminent people.” said Chabane
