The
Democratic Alliance has called for Public Protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela to
investigate allegations of cronyism and corruption by the South African Social
Security Agency CEO Virginia Peterson.
This
comes after Peterson allegedly employed a family friend as an intern at SASSA.
DA
MP of Social Development Mike Waters said this is not the first time Peterson
has been implicated in an employment scandal.
Waters added that corruption has taken a
toll in this country and SASSA need to make an example because they are there
to help the poor.
