Suspected tobacco thief arrested

A 42-year-old suspect was arrested on Wednesday in suspicion of stolen goods worth several million of Rands.  This is after a British American Tobacco company truck which was carrying 980 cases of Peter Stuyvesant was hijacked.  The stolen goods were worth over R12 million.

Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale said that a team of detectives was set up by the National Commissioner to investigate the blue light.  They arrested one suspect yesterday jwho was found to be in possession of the stolen hat stolen cigarettes.

 “We are also very pleased with the success there. The detectives worked throughout the night to make sure that are able to effect this arrest.” said  Makgale

The suspect is expected to appear in court on Friday.
