Eleven South Africans were among twenty people including
The arrests follow an operation headed by
the United States Homeland Security Investigations which shows that a West
African transnational organized crime enterprise was involved in numerous
complex financial fraud schemes over the internet.
Captain Paul Ramaloko said the suspects were arrested on Tuesday during a sting operation between the Hawks and the Homeland Security Investigations.
He added that all the suspects were taken
to the Pretoria Magistrate Court and charged with
theft, fraud and corruption.
