The Democratic Alliance leadership on Tuesday said the new Land Form Policy Proposal in its current form will lead the country into a path of forced expropriation, greater government control of farming development, insecurity, job losses and rural decline.

Minister of Land Reform Gugile Nkwinti has proposed that farmers should transfer 50 percent of their land to farmworkers.

DA’s Ntomboxolo Makoba said we will call for land committee to debate the minister’s proposal as the matter of urgency.

“We also oppose any legislation emerging in the minister proposal from the current form.” Makoba
