Newborn baby’s body found in Delft

A body of a newborn baby was discovered in Delft on Friday.  It is allged that the mother of the child dumped his body in between cars.

Meanwhile Western Cape MEC of Social Development Albert Fritz said the provincial government condemns this latest incident of baby dumping in the strongest possible manner. 

MEC Fritz said it is unacceptable that babies are being dumped while there is always another alternative. 

MEC Fritz said we going to call on the police and work with police to make efforts in doing a full investigation into the case of the newborn baby being dumped in Delft.

Fritz said the perpetrator the mother in this case must be severely punished by the courts so that a strong message goes out to young mothers that if you don’t want to keep your newborn baby please give it to the Department of Social Development and please do not dump the baby.

 

That is the message we have for young mothers in order to prevent dumping Fritz added.
