A head-on collision leaves one man dead

An accident this morning in Johannesburg East left a man in his 50’s dead. It is believed that a truck and a SUV collided head-on. 

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found the road blocked by two wrecked vehicles.

Meiring said when paramedics assisted the driver of the SUV they found his body lying lifeless trapped inside his vehicle with no sign of life.

“The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries he was treated on scene and transported to hospital for further observation” Meiring added.    

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
