The Organised Crime Unit on Tuesday confiscated bags of abalone at a building in Gaansbaai.

It is alleged that the abalone was hidden and waiting to be transported.

The Police have asked the public to come forward with any information that may lead to the arrest of suspects.

Captain FC Van Wyk said no one has been arrested as yet in connection with this and the abalone is estimated to the value of R 8 524.
