The
Congress of South African Trade Union in the Western Cape is today heading to
the Equality Court to file an application against the City of Cape Town
regarding discrimination over MyCiti Bus services.
Cosatu’s
Tony Ehrenreich said the rollout of the service in the Cape Flats has been
different to the rollout and services in Milnerton.
“The
way in which the MyCiti roll-out is unclearly unequal to Milnerton and Bothasig
they get the state of art services while Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha just
get very the basic of services with insufficient busses and bus stops.
This
is clearly unequal discriminatory and shows the bias of DA towards the wealthy
people of the City.” Ehrenreich added.
