The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa said it is disturbed at the shooting incident which happened at the Mmabatho Nursing College in the North West on Wednesday.

It is believed that students were protesting peacefully at the closure of the institution when police opened fire and mixed rubber bullets with live ammunition.

Denosa’s SRC President at Mmabatho Nursing College Tshepo Monoketsi said ever since we have phrased our concerns to the department from the 08th of May till to date there’s been nothing coming forward in terms of interventions and addressing the matter.

“We have just seen a clear arrogance from the department side from of the MEC and to the campus at the College.” Monoketsi added.
