The National Education Health and Allied Workers Union says it supports the strike by the United Kingdom’s biggest public service union the Unison.

Nehawu Spokesperson Sizwe Pamla said workers all over the world are facing serious challenges of low wages, public spending cuts, poor working conditions, unfair labour practices and their attacks on their bargaining rights.

Pamla said after 2008 there’s been a lot public spending cards whereby public sector workers have been regarded more of a nuisance rather than a necessity. We think that as workers understanding the situation they find themselves in, we are fully behind them.

“We offer our voice of solidarity and we are hopeful that sanity will prevail that the employer which is the UK government will be able to reconsider and proceed to the demands of the workers Pamla added.
