SA athletes wished well in Common Wealth Games

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa together with Minister of Sports Fikile Mbalula will today officiate a send-off ceremony for team South Africa to the Commonwealth Games. 

155 athletes will be representing the country in sixteen sporting codes including boxing, cycling, aquatics, rugby sevens, hockey, netball and wrestling. 

The games will get underway in Glasgow Scotland from the 23rd of July to the 3rd of August. Ramaphosa said the games will serve to further unite the nation in the year that we celebrate 20 years of Freedom. 

Deputy President Spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said the Deputy President will treaditionally hand over the South African flag to the and he will also pass the message sent by the President to the athletes.
