A motorcyclist left with severe head injuries following an accident

An accident late last night on the R64 in Kimberley left a motorcyclist in a critical condition. 

This is after a light motor vehicle collided with the motorcyclist head-on. 

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found the motorcyclist who is in his 40’s lying on his back in the middle of the road.

Meiring said the patient sustained severe head injuries and was transported to the Kimberley Hospital for medical care.  The two occupants in the light motor vehicle were not injured.

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
