Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa today
visited the Home Affairs Marabastad Refugee Centre in Pretoria today to assess
the department’s service delivery levels.
Ramaphosa said together with President
Jacob Zuma they will be making several visits across the country in all service
delivery points to see the effectiveness of service delivery at various places
where government departments are meant to serve our people.
Ramaphosa said the delivery of the service
has become a lot better but now it is the actual resource or the facility
itself that needs to improve.
Meanwhile Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa
during his visit also said one of the challenges for government is the amount
of people coming from various parts countries seeking asylum.
He added that government needs to find ways
of dealing with this matter and treating people humanely.
Ramaphosa said we are a humane rights based
country so therefore we have to adhere to human rights principles even as we
receive people from different countries.
