Kimberley police over the weekend conducted a routine crime prevention stop and search operation which led to mandrax tablets worth R700 000 was confiscated.

A bus was travelling from Johannesburg to Cape Town when it was stopped and searched by police.

Lieutenant Olebogeng Tawana said during the search a bag sealed with drugs was found inside the bus.  None of the passenger could claim the bag, so as a result no one was arrested.

“The Kimberley Cluster Commander Major General G Abrahams applauded her crime prevention team for confiscating a large quantity of drugs which were about to hit the street” Tawana added.
