Western Cape MEC of Social Development Albert Fritz said he is proud of the successful stories that are coming out of the first Youth Café in Rocklands, Mitchell’s Plain.
Over 200 pupils received certificates for completing courses and workshops done at the Youth Café.
Some of the courses and workshops included Project Management, HIV/Aids counselling and Graphic Design amongst other things.
MEC Fritz said it is exceptional because up to now, in six months’ later after they launch on the 20th of January we have now 850 people who have registered at our youth café in Rocklands and we are very excited that these make use of the opportunities the Western Cape government are giving them.
“We will continue to roll out youth cafés, one in Atlantis and one in Nyanga and another one in the region of George, where rural youth can use of opportunities by the Western Cape government.” Fritz added.
