The Democratic Alliance has described the
decision by the Supreme Court of Appeal to order the National Prosecuting
Authority to hand over so-called spy tapes as a historic day for our democracy.
In 2009, then acting NPA boss Mokotedi
Mpshe, used the tapes as grounds for dropping more than 700 counts of
corruption charges against Zuma.
DA’s Jamie Turkington said both electronic
and written data will be released to the DA.
“Using those tapes we will proceed with a
review of whether the NPA took the right decision in dropping 700 counts of
corruption against President Jacob Zuma Turkington added.
