One dead and three injured in separate collisions

An accident this morning along the N3 in Shongweni left a man dead.  It is believed that a heavy goods truck smashed into the rear end of another truck. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said when they arrived at the scene the passenger was still trapped in the vehicle while the driver was aside of the road.

“Paramedics used the Jaws of Life to extricate the passenger from the truck, tragically he died on scene due to very extensive injuries that he had sustained.

The driver was treated on scene and transported through to a local hospital for further care.” Botha added.

Meanwhile in another accident this morning on Lynnwood Drive in Silver Lakes, Pretoria left a man in a serious condition. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Santi Steinmann said upon their on scene they found that a minibus and heavy goods vehicle had collided resulting in one man found to be in serious condition.

“The man was treated on scene on scene and rushed to hospital for the urgent medical care he required.” Steinmann added.

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
