ER24 paramedics this morning attended to an
accident scene in Benoni whereby two people died after their vehicle collided
with a truck.
ER24 Spokesperson Luyanda Majija said when
paramedics arrived on scene they found that the deceased men were trapped in
their mangled vehicle.
Majija said paramedics had to use the
jaws-of-life equipment to extricate the two men and they were declared dead on
the scene.
“The driver of the truck sustained minor
injuries and was treated on scene before being transported to hospital for
further medical care that he required” Majija added.
The exact details of the cause of the
accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
