Twenty one members of the Free State police and administration clerk were arrested for corruption, money laundering and theft.

The arrested consist of two captains, five warrant officers, two sergeants, twelve constables and an administration clerk.

Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale said eighteen criminal cases have been opened against the suspects.

Makgale said it is very disappointing that the people involved in these crimes are our very own police officers.

“It is important as we professionalize and as we seek to transform the SAPS, we also deal with the police officials who are involved in criminality” Makgale added.
