A woman sustain critical injuries after being struck by a car

Paramedics were called out this afternoon Queen Victoria Road in Claremont,whereby a woman was struck by car.

The woman in her 20`s was in a critical condition.

ER24 Spokesperson Rusell Meiring said arrived on scene and found the patient lying on the side of the road next to the pavement.

Meiring said advanced life support was performed on the patient to stabilize her vital signs before she was transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

He added that the driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately did not sustain any injuries.

The exact details of the accident is not known at this stage and the police are investigating.
