The African Christian Democratic Party has called for an increased police visibility in our communities.

This follows the latest crime stats which were released last week and which showed that murder has increased.

ACDP MP Cheryllyn Dudley said society as a whole must continue to address challenges such as poverty, unemployment and drug abuse.

“The fact that South Africa has one police officer for every 346 South Africans makes the need for all of us to contribute to reducing crime and fighting corruption in our communities an absolute necessity. It is crucial for communities to grasp the importance of working closely with police to reduce these terrible statistics.” Dudley added.

She cocluded by saying that the ACDP calls on the department to prioritise increased police visibility in communities.
