The Cape Chamber of Commerce said it is concerned by City of Cape Town’s electricity account increase.

President of the Chamber Janine Myburgh said this will have a major blow on the on the small business.

This after the chamber has received widespread complaints form small business about massive increases in their electricity accounts.

"The shocking thing this about this, is that there has been no warning and no consultation with customers. This not the way things should be done. Customers should be treated with respect

Which ever way you look at it the sudden increase of 223 % is both unreasonable and unacceptable.” Myburgh added.
