The Democratic Alliance has called on government to play its part in help small businesses to get off the ground.

DA Parliamentary Leader Mmusi Maimane said the National Development Plan approach can lead to 11-million new jobs in South Africa by 2030 through less state control and more free market factors.

Maimane said we should ask ourselves why a department is spending money on luxury travel, when places like Emdeni industrial park is in decay.

Maimane said the DA will get to the bottom of this scandal by asking more questions in Parliament to discover exactly where the Deputy Minister and her contingent stayed to spend R1.2 million on a single trip overseas.

“With your support, we would implement policies that would help small businesses to grow so that they can be more profitable and create more jobs Maimane added.
