PTV welcomes cancellation of MyCiti services to Sea Point

Public Transport Voice has welcomed the decision that was taken by City of Cape Town cancelling the MyCiti bus services routes along Ocean View Drive to Sea Point due to low number of people using the service.

This is after MyCiTi survey confirmed an extremely low passenger demand on this route, with approximately 80 passengers per weekday and virtually no demand during the inter-peak hours, or on weekends.

PTV’s Zingisani Nkanjeni said there was no proper consultation with these communities and we have been calling for the city to implement the services to communities where it is needed the most.

“We hope that this will be an eye opener for the city to start to enrol this service to the cape flats areas” Nkanjeni added.
